Phoenix Decorating Company has been building floats since 1956. The name is renowned and synonymous with Pasadena Tournament of Roses. For many years, there have only been one or two authentic Rose Parade float construction companies – this is the one that’s always considered first for the largest all-floral parade in the United States.
The talent, the passion, the dedication and commitment to creating intoxicatingly beautiful products is the goal of every member of the team at PDC.
The name, Phoenix Decorating Company came simply to original founder Bill Lofthouse knowing full well that building a float is creating and recreating life that has vibrancy and also be stunningly spectacular.
“A Phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor.”
The disciplines of this craft were derived genetically by Chris Lofthouse, president; presiding over both the Rose Palace and Rosemont Pavilion. Chris’s perspective of these buildings differs from outsiders; within these two structures breathes the float development process: a concept or vision to imposing reality. Chris and his wife Lyn comprise the ideal business partnership; teaming that equals more float DNA, experience and imagination than any other company in this industry.
Heritage, knowledge, and technology assemble the other extraordinary team players (characters) of professional designers, builders and decorators. Embracing the adventure of building new floats each year manufacturers the delivery of an exceptional product. Without failure, PDC grasps the opportunity to offer their turnkey solutions and hospitality to returning clients and those how are new to the experience.
